Application of RFH UV Nanosecond Solid State Laser in 3D Printing

3D printing, a type of rapid prototyping technology, also known as additive manufacturing, is a technology that constructs objects by layer-by-layer printing based on digital model files. Today, 3D printing has been widely used in aerospace, automobile industry, ships, molds and other fields. According to data, the scale of my country's 3D printing industry will reach 20 billion yuan in 2020.

Stereolithography (SLA, Stereolithography) is one of the most common 3D printing technologies on the market, also known as light modeling or stereolithography. It works based on the photopolymerization principle of liquid photosensitive resin. Under the irradiation of ultraviolet light, photopolymerization is easy to occur, the molecular weight increases sharply, and the material changes from liquid to solid. This process has the advantages of fast processing speed, high precision, good acute angle, good surface details, and excellent workpiece appearance.

In the SLA 3D printing process, the choice of laser wavelength and laser intensity are the keys to the accuracy of the SLA process.

The industrial-grade nanosecond solid-state laser developed and designed by RFH, the output 355nm high-energy density ultraviolet laser, can quickly harden the liquid photosensitive resin in the container. During 3D printing, the programmed laser beam scans the surface of the liquid under the action of a deflecting mirror, and the liquid solidifies where the light spot hits. In this way, from the point to the line, and then from the line to a layer, when a layer is scanned, the unirradiated part is still liquid resin, and then the computer-controlled lifting table moves the height of the other layer in the vertical direction, repeating With the above actions, the cross-sections of the workpieces that are stacked layer by layer are obtained and gradually formed until the entire workpiece is manufactured.

Moreover, the repetition frequency range of this laser is very wide, from single pulse to 500kHz, and the beam quality is excellent (M2<1.2). >5W), the heat-affected zone is very small, which brings high-precision cold processing, which is very suitable for the application of SLA 3D printing process.

In addition, the industrial-grade nanosecond lasers developed and designed by RFH, in addition to the models with output power greater than 5W@355nm, also have models greater than 30W@355nm, which can be used in the sintering and stacking process of powder materials. The output laser is irradiated on specific powders. The powder particles in the material are bonded and transformed into a product model of a crystal combination. This process is also one of the very mainstream methods in 3D printing.

Today, SLA 3D printing has become one of the mature and widely used technologies. In the future, it will further develop towards high-speed, energy saving, environmental protection and miniaturization. RFH will continue to carry out technology research and development as always, and develop more suitable for future 3D printing development. Trending Laser Products.
