Have never done anything like laser engraving/cutting. Did a little research and the 355nm uv laser looked like it had everything a person needed to start out included. Liked the idea of auto focus, the "smart" feature of being able to put a picture in with it and it would duplicate it. Had my first item engraved in a few hours, and was cutting and engraving in a couple of weeks.
